Chapter 21

باب 21

(21) باب جَوَازِ أَكْلِ الْمَرَقِ وَاسْتِحْبَابِ أَكْلِ الْيَقْطِينِ وَإِيثَارِ أَهْلِ الْمَائِدَةِ بَعْضِهِمْ بَعْضًا وَإِنْ كَانُوا ضِيفَانًا إِذَا لَمْ يَكْرَهْ ذَلِكَ صَاحِبُ الطَّعَامِ

(21) Chapter: It is permissible to eat soup, and it is recommended to eat squash, And for the people eating together to show preference to one another even if they are guests, so long as the host does not object to that (AR)

وَحَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، وَعَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، خَيَّاطًا دَعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم . وَزَادَ قَالَ ثَابِتٌ فَسَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا يَقُولُ فَمَا صُنِعَ لِي طَعَامٌ بَعْدُ أَقْدِرُ عَلَى أَنْ يُصْنَعَ فِيهِ دُبَّاءٌ إِلاَّ صُنِعَ .

Anas b. Malik rdported that a tailor invited Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) to a feast. There has been an addition to this that Thabit said:
I heard Anas saying that any meal that was prepared for me after that I tried that it should contain pumpkin. (AR)
