(466) بَابُ التَّسْلِيمِ بِالْمَعْرِفَةِ وَغَيْرِهَا

(466) Chapter: Greeting those you know and those you do not know (DE)

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ الإِسْلاَمِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ: تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ، وَتُقْرِئُ السَّلاَمَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ.


'Abdullah ibn 'Amr reported that a man said, "Messenger of Allah,which aspect of Islam is best?" He replied, "Feeding people and greetingthose you know and those you do not know." (DE)
