باب 20

(20) باب الْحَثِّ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ أَوْ كَلِمَةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَأَنَّهَا حِجَابٌ مِنْ النَّارِ

(20) Chapter: Encouragement to give charity even if it is with half a date or a kind word. And charity is a shield against the fire. (DE)

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، الْعَنْبَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالاَ، جَمِيعًا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْمُنْذِرَ بْنَ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَدْرَ النَّهَارِ . بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَعْفَرٍ وَفِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ مُعَاذٍ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ قَالَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ثُمَّ خَطَبَ .

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Mandhir through another chain of transmitters. And the hadith transmitted by Ibn Mu'adh contains an addition:
" He then observed the noon prayer and then gave the sermon." (DE)
