(14) باب النَّهْىِ عَنِ الْبُكَاءِ، عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ

(14) Chapter: Prohibition of weeping for the dead (DE)

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ قَالَ سَالِمٌ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ قَالَ عُمَرُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " يُعَذَّبُ الْمَيِّتُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ " .

It was narrated that Ibn Shihab said:
"Salim said: 'I heard 'Abdullah bin 'Umar say: 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah said: The deceased is punished due to his family's weeping for him."' (DE)
