Dua for Of the guest for the host
The dua of the guests for the host was taught by Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and has been narrated by the most authentic narrators in Hisnul Muslim 182. Abdullah ibn Busr (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا) narrates that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) visited his father and was offered dates and other food items. Prophet (ﷺ) started eating the dates and enjoyed the offered beverage. When Abdullah Ibn Busr (رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا)’s father asked the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, to pray for them, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
“O Allah, bless them in what You have provided for them, and forgive them and have mercy on them.”
A second narration is by An-Nawawi, reporting that the Prophet indicated guests praying for hosts as Mustahabb (encouraged). Another narration is in the Sahih Muslim 3/1615, which is also an authentic source of hadith.
