حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُمَارَةَ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، فَصَعِدْتُ بِهِ عَلَى سَطْحٍ أَجْلَحَ، فَنَزَلَ وَقَالَ: كِدْتُ أَنْ أَبِيتَ اللَّيْلَةَ وَلاَ ذِمَّةَ لِي.


'Ali ibn 'Umara said, "Abu Ayyub al-Ansari came and went up onthe flat roof. He came down and said, 'I almost spent the night with noprotection.'" (ES)
