Yahya related to me from Malik that Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn AbiTalha said, "Anas ibn Malik said, 'I saw Umar ibn al-Khattab when hewas the amir of Madina. Three patches were sewn between his shoulders,one patched over the other.' '' (ES)
