(344) بَابُ لا تُسَمُّوا الْعِنَبَ الْكَرْمَ

(344) Chapter: Do not call the grape "kurm" (ES)

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَائِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: لاَ يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ: الْكَرْمَ، وَقُولُوا الْحَبَلَةَ، يَعْنِي: الْعِنَبَ.


'Alqama ibn Wa'il reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless himand grant him peace, said, "None of you should say 'kurm.' Ratheruse 'habala' for grape-vines." (ES)
