باب 9

(9) باب الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ

(9) Chapter: The deceased is tormented because of his family's crying for him (ES)

وَحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَنَّحَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَىِّ " .

'Abdullah b. 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
The dead is punished because of the lamentation of the living. (ES)
