(25) باب فِي الْبِكْرِ يُزَوِّجُهَا أَبُوهَا وَلاَ يَسْتَأْمِرُهَا

(691) Chapter: Regarding A Virgin Who Was Married Off By Her Father Without He Consent (FR)

حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ جَارِيَةً، بِكْرًا أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَتْ أَنَّ أَبَاهَا زَوَّجَهَا وَهِيَ كَارِهَةٌ فَخَيَّرَهَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم .

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:
A virgin came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and mentioned that her father had married her against her will, so the Prophet (ﷺ) allowed her to exercise her choice. (FR)
