(34) بَابُ لَيْسَ الْوَاصِلُ بِالْمُكَافِئِ

(34) Chapter: The one who maintains ties of kinship is not the one who (FR)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، وَفِطْرٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ سُفْيَانُ لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ الأَعْمَشُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَرَفَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ وَفِطْرٌ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: لَيْسَ الْوَاصِلُ بِالْمُكَافِئِ، وَلَكِنَّ الْوَاصِلَ الَّذِي إِذَا قُطِعَتْ رَحِمُهُ وَصَلَهَا.


'Abdullah ibn 'Amr reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him andgrant him peace, said, "The one who maintains ties of kinship is not theone who reciprocates. The one who maintains ties of kinship is the one who,when his relatives cut him off, maintains ties of kinship." (FR)
