١٩ - مَرْيَم

19 - Maryam

فَخَــلَفَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِہِمْ خَلْفٌ اَضَاعُوا الصَّلٰوۃَ وَاتَّـبَعُوا الشَّہَوٰتِ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا۝۵۹ۙ
Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun adaAAoo alssalata waittabaAAoo alshshahawati fasawfa yalqawna ghayyan

English

Ahmed Ali

But they are succeeded by a generation who neglect their devotional obligations and follow only earthly pleasures; but they will reach the wrong road and meet destruction,

59

اِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَاٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًـا فَاُولٰۗىِٕكَ يَدْخُلُوْنَ الْجَــنَّۃَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ شَـيْــــًٔا۝۶۰ۙ
Illa man taba waamana waAAamila salihan faolaika yadkhuloona aljannata wala yuthlamoona shayan

English

Ahmed Ali

Except those who repent and come to believe and do the right. These will enter Paradise and will not be wronged the least

60

جَنّٰتِ عَدْنِۨ الَّتِيْ وَعَدَ الرَّحْمٰنُ عِبَادَہٗ بِالْغَيْبِ۝۰ۭ اِنَّہٗ كَانَ وَعْدُہٗ مَاْتِيًّا۝۶۱
Jannati AAadnin allatee waAAada alrrahmanu AAibadahu bialghaybi innahu kana waAAduhu matiyyan

Ahmed Ali

In the gardens of Eden promised by Ar-Rahman to His creatures in the unknown (future). Verily His promise will come to pass.

61

لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ فِيْہَا لَغْوًا اِلَّا سَلٰمًا۝۰ۭ وَلَہُمْ رِزْقُـہُمْ فِيْہَا بُكْرَۃً وَّعَشِـيًّا۝۶۲
La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan illa salaman walahum rizquhum feeha bukratan waAAashiyyan

English

Ahmed Ali

They will hear no vain talk there, but only salutations of peace, and they will have their sustenance morning and evening."

62

تِلْكَ الْجَــــنَّۃُ الَّتِيْ نُوْرِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَنْ كَانَ تَقِيًّا۝۶۳
Tilka aljannatu allatee noorithu min AAibadina man kana taqiyyan

English

Ahmed Ali

This is the Paradise those of Our creatures will inherit who take heed and fear the displeasure of God.

63

وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ اِلَّا بِاَمْرِ رَبِّكَ۝۰ۚ لَہٗ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْــنَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذٰلِكَ۝۰ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِـيًّا۝۶۴ۚ
Wama natanazzalu illa biamri rabbika lahu ma bayna aydeena wama khalfana wama bayna thalika wama kana rabbuka nasiyyan

Ahmed Ali

"We do not come down," (will the angels say) "but only by your Lord's command." To Him belongs whatever lies before us and behind us, and the space in between. Your Lord does not ever forget:

64

رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَہُمَا فَاعْبُدْہُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِہٖ۝۰ۭ ہَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَہٗ سَمِيًّا۝۶۵ۧ
Rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma faoAAbudhu waistabir liAAibadatihi hal taAAlamu lahu samiyyan

English

Ahmed Ali

Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them. Therefore worship Him, and be constant in His worship. Do you know any namesake of His?

65

وَيَقُوْلُ الْاِنْسَانُ ءَ اِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ اُخْرَجُ حَيًّا۝۶۶
Wayaqoolu alinsanu aitha ma mittu lasawfa okhraju hayyan

Ahmed Ali

Yet man says: "When I am dead, will I come to life again?"

66

اَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ الْاِنْسَانُ اَنَّا خَلَقْنٰہُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَـيْـــــًٔـا۝۶۷
Awala yathkuru alinsanu anna khalaqnahu min qablu walam yaku shayan

Ahmed Ali

Does man not remember that before We created him he was nothing?

67

فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّہُمْ وَالشَّيٰطِيْنَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّہُمْ حَوْلَ جَہَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا۝۶۸ۚ
Fawarabbika lanahshurannahum waalshshayateena thumma lanuhdirannahum hawla jahannama jithiyyan

Ahmed Ali

By your Lord, We shall gather them and the devils together, then bring them crawling on their knees around Hell.
