Hadith 26167

Chapter 1

باب 1

(1) باب النَّهْىِ عَنِ التَّكَنِّي، بِأَبِي الْقَاسِمِ وَبَيَانِ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ مِنَ الأَسْمَاءِ .

(1) Chapter: The Prohibition Of Taking The Kunyah Abul-Qasim, And The Names Which Are Recommended (IT)

حَدَّثَنَا رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، - يَعْنِي الطَّحَّانَ - عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ " فَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ قَاسِمًا أَقْسِمُ بَيْنَكُمْ " .

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Husain With the same chain of transmitters but no mention is made of these words:
" (I have been sent as a distributor), so I distribute amongst you." (IT)
