One of the oldest mosques in Boston – Mosque for the Praising of Allah (Masjid Allhumdulillah) has been running for 50 years and serving the needs of Muslims and non-Muslims in the city of Boston. The mosque was founded and sponsored by the society of Islamic Brotherhood. Since then, the mosque has worked towards meeting the educational and social needs of the American Muslim community in the state.
Masjid Alhamdulillah also founded and opened Boston's first Islamic elementary school to illuminate young Muslim minds about the principles of their faith in Islam. However, the school had to close in 1983. This did not hinder the mosque's commitment to spreading Islamic education, and it opened weekend schools for children to teach them Arabic, Quran, and Islamic studies. The mosque has been operating its weekend school for over 25 years.
Other ventures started by the mosque include summer camps, the Raad basketball team, archery classes, cookouts, bazaars and outings, CDL license preparation classes, out-of-school tutoring, and more. The mosque is also a member of the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) and has worked towards maintaining interfaith harmony in the society.
