وَعَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { جَعَلَ اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ, وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ. يَعْنِي: فِي اَلْمَسْحِ عَلَى اَلْخُفَّيْنِ } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم ٌ (78) .1 - صحيح. رواه مسلم (276) من طريق شريح بن هانيء، قال: أتيت عائشة أسألها عن المسح على الخفين؟ فقالت: عليك بابن أبي طالب فسله، فإنه كان يسافر مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. فسألناه فقال: فذكره دون قوله: يعني في المسح على الخفين، فإن هذه الجملة من صياغة الحافظ.

Narrated 'Ali (rad):
The Prophet (ﷺ) fixed the period of Mash (wiping) over the leather socks (Khifaf – plural of Khuff) for three days and nights for a traveller and one day and a night for the resident person in a town [Reported by Muslim]. (TH)
