(27) باب طَهَارَةِ جُلُودِ الْمَيْتَةِ بِالدِّبَاغِ

(27) Chapter: Hides of dead animals are purified by tanning (ES)

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، مُنْذُ حِينٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ دَاجِنَةً كَانَتْ لِبَعْضِ نِسَاءِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَمَاتَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَلاَّ أَخَذْتُمْ إِهَابَهَا فَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِهِ " .

Ibn'Abbas reported on the authority of Maimuna that someone amongst the wives of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had a domestic animal and it died. Upon this the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
Why did you not take off its skin and make use of that? (ES)
