(194) بَابُ التَّفْرِقَةِ بَيْنَ الاحْدَاثِ

(194) Chapter: Separating young people (JA)

حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَغْرَاءَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، كَانَ عُمَرُ يَقُولُ لِبَنِيهِ: إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُمْ فَتَبَدَّدُوا، وَلاَ تَجْتَمِعُوا فِي دَارٍ وَاحِدَةٍ، فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تَقَاطَعُوا، أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْنَكُمْ شَرٌّ.


Salim ibn 'Abdullah reported from his father that 'Umar used tosay to his sons, "Separate in the morning and do not meet together in thesame house. I fear that you might split up or that some evil may take placebetween you." (JA)
