(80) باب الصَّدَقَةِ لِمَنْ تَحَمَّلَ بِحَمَالَةٍ

(80) Chapter: Charity For The One Who Undertakes A Financial Responsibility (JA)

أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ رِئَابٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي كِنَانَةُ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ هَارُونَ، عَنْ كِنَانَةَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ، قَالَ تَحَمَّلْتُ حَمَالَةً فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلْتُهُ فِيهَا فَقَالَ " إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لاَ تَحِلُّ إِلاَّ لِثَلاَثَةٍ رَجُلٍ تَحَمَّلَ بِحَمَالَةٍ بَيْنَ قَوْمٍ فَسَأَلَ فِيهَا حَتَّى يُؤَدِّيَهَا ثُمَّ يُمْسِكَ " .

It was narrated that Qubaisah bin Mukhariq said:
"I undertook a financial responsibility. [1] Then I came to the Prophet and asked him (for help) concerning that. He said: 'Asking (for money) is not permissible except for three: A man who undertakes a financial responsibility between people; he may ask for help with that until the matter is settled, then he should refrain (from asking)."' (JA)
