(45) باب بَيَانِ غِلَظِ تَحْرِيمِ النَّمِيمَةِ

(45) Chapter: Clarifying the emphatic prohibition of An-Namimah (Malicious Gossip) (JA)

وَحَدَّثَنِي شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ الضُّبَعِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ مَيْمُونٍ - حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ الأَحْدَبُ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلاً، يَنِمُّ الْحَدِيثَ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ نَمَّامٌ " .

It is reported from Hudhaifa that news reached him (the Holy Prophet) that a certain man carried tales. Upon this Hudhaifa remarked:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying: The tale-bearer shall not enter Paradise. (JA)
