(117) باب التَّكْبِيرِ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ

(117) Chapter: Saying the Takbir on raising from the prostration (JA)

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ شَيْخٍ بِمَكَّةَ فَكَبَّرَ ثِنْتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً، فَقُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّهُ أَحْمَقُ. فَقَالَ ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ، سُنَّةُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ صلى الله عليه وسلم. وَقَالَ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ.

Narrated `Ikrima:
I prayed behind a Sheikh at Mecca and he said twenty two Takbirs (during the prayer). I told Ibn `Abbas that he (i.e. that Sheikh) was foolish. Ibn `Abbas admonished me and said, "This is the tradition of Abul-Qasim." (JA)
