(28) باب الْمَعْدِنِ
It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said:
"The Messenger of Allah was asked about Al-Luqath.[2] He said: "That which is found on a much-traveled road or in an inhabited village, announce it for a year. If its owner comes (and takes it, well and good), otherwise it is yours. That which was not found on a much-traveled road or in an inhabited village is subject to the Khuns, as is Rikaz."'[1] (JA)
