The Nanjing Caoqiao Mosque is located in the Qinhuai District in the Jiangsu province. The mosque was constructed during the Ming Dynasty and since that time period, it has been renovated various times. The building is a typical Chinese wooden building with a wooden exterior that’s been painted red and a characteristic Chinese roof. The interior is also wood, adorned with Islamic Calligraphy and inscriptions.
The mosque is open for daily obligatory prayers, Jummah prayers, and special prayers. It is frequented by the local Hui Muslim community and tourists. As is typical in Chinese architecture, the mosque has big rooms that have been purpose-built for the mosque.
