Reciting five regular prayers at specific times every day is one of the five basic elements of Islam. Time slots for these prayers are specifically mentioned in Islamic Jurisprudence. Accordingly, Fajr is performed before sunrise, Dhuhr in the afternoon, and Asr in the late afternoon. Maghrib prayer needs to be offered immediately after sunset, and Isha can be recited during the night but before midnight. Based on these specifications, the exact timings of each prayer are calculated according to the geographic location and positioning of the Sun in each city.

Belize is situated in the Central America on the northeastern coastline. Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras are its neighboring countries. The Caribbean Sea is on its eastern side. It is a small country with having total population of around 405,000 per the latest census. Christianity is the major religion of Belize, whereas Islam is a small minority, comprising just 0.2% of the total population. Per the latest census Muslim population is around 570, the majority of which live in Belize City.
Other main cities of Belize, like Belmopan and San Ignacio, hardly have a few Muslims. MuslimandQuran, however, provide accurate prayer times for all cities of Belize for the benefit of Muslims, living in or traveling to these areas.
Though Muslims are a very small minority in Belize, their affiliation with the religion is enormous. With just around 570 Muslims living mostly in Belize City, they have managed to establish the “Islamic Mission of Belize,” commonly known as IMB. Its Headquarters is based in Belize City. Apart from this mission, they also established a Muslim Community Primary School (MCPS) in 1978. It provides Islamic and elementary education to the local Muslim and Non-Muslim children.
Belize City also has a mosque known as Al-Falah Mosque. It was formally opened for prayers in May 2008. The mosque building was completed at a cost of $500,000. It can host 300 persons for reciting prayers at a time. Al-Falah mosque is a reasonably big mosque having a covered area of 1,115 m2, with a prayer hall, meeting room, boardroom, classroom, library, and kitchen.
Like any other Muslim Minority Country, Belizean Muslims somehow manage to celebrate major Islamic events such as Ramadan and two Eids. They follow the dates of Islamic events and festivals, as declared officially by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Special meals are prepared for Sahoor and Iftar during the month of Ramadan. Being a non-Muslim Country, there are no official holidays on Eid Al-Fitr or Eid Al-Adha. Muslims manage to celebrate these days on their own.
