Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abbad ibnZiyad, a descendant of al-Mughira ibn Shuba from his father from alMughira ibn Shuba that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him andgrant him peace, went to relieve himself during the expedition ofTabuk. Mughira said, "I went with him, taking water. Then theMessenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came backand I poured out the water for him. He washed his hands and then wentto push his hands out of the sleeves of his garment, but could not doso because of their narrowness. So he brought them out from underneathhis garment. Then he washed his arms, wiped his head and wiped overhis leather socks. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him andgrant him peace, returned and Abdar Rahman ibn Awf was leading thepeople in prayer, and he had already finished one raka with them. TheMessenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayedthe remaining raka with them to everyone's concern. When the Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, finished he said,'You have acted correctly.' "
