(42) باب كَمِ التَّعْزِيرُ وَالأَدَبُ

(42) Chapter: What punishment may be inflicted on the person so that they may not commit the same sin again, or so that they may learn good manners

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ عُقُوبَةَ فَوْقَ عَشْرِ ضَرَبَاتٍ إِلاَّ فِي حَدٍّ مِنْ حُدُودِ اللَّهِ ".

Narrated `Abdur-Rahman bin Jabir:
On the authority of others, that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No Punishment exceeds the flogging of the ten stripes, except if one is guilty of a crime necessitating a legal punishment prescribed by Allah."
