(171) باب فِي الإِذْنِ فِي الْقُفُولِ بَعْدَ النَّهْىِ

(1018) Chapter: Regarding The Permission For Returning From The Battle After It Had Been Prohibited

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ { لاَ يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ } الآيَةَ نَسَخَتْهَا الَّتِي فِي النُّورِ { إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ } إِلَى قَوْلِهِ { غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ } .


Ibn 'Abbas said "The verse "Those who believe in Allaah and the Last Day ask thee for no exemption from fighting with their goods and persons" was abrogated by the verse "Only those are believers who believe in Allaah and His Apostle....For Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
