(5) باب كَرَاهَةِ انْتِبَاذِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ مَخْلُوطَيْنِ

(5) Chapter: It is disliked to make Nabidh by mixing dried dates and raisins

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتَوَائِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ، أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ تَنْتَبِذُوا الزَّهْوَ وَالرُّطَبَ جَمِيعًا وَلاَ تَنْتَبِذُوا الزَّبِيبَ وَالتَّمْرَ جَمِيعًا وَانْتَبِذُوا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى حِدَتِهِ " .

Abu Qatada, on the authority of his father, reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said this:
Do not prepare Nabidh by mixing nearly ripe dates and fresh dates together, and do not prepare Nabidh by mixing grapes and dates together, but prepare Nabidh from each (one of them) separately.
