باب 40

(40) باب فَضْلِ اسْتِمَاعِ الْقُرْآنِ وَطَلَبِ الْقِرَاءَةِ مِنْ حَافِظِهِ لِلاِسْتِمَاعِ وَالْبُكَاءِ عِنْدَ الْقِرَاءَةِ وَالتَّدَبُّرِ

(40) Chapter: The virtue of listening to the Qur'an, asking one who has memorized it to recite so that one may listen, weeping when reciting, and pondering the meanings

وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ . وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ لِي " أَحْسَنْتَ " .

This hadith has been narrated by A'mash with the same chain of transmitters but with an exception that it is not mentioned in it:
" He said to me: You recited (the Qur'an) well."
