Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Mahmud ibnRabi al-Ansari that Utban ibn Malik, who was a blind man, used to leadhis people in prayer, and he said to the Messenger of Allah, may Allahbless him and grant him peace, "Sometimes it is dark and rainy andthere is a lot of water around outside, and I am a man who has losthis sight. Messenger of Allah, pray in a certain place in my house sothat I can take it as a place to pray." The Messenger of Allah, mayAllah bless him and grant him peace, came to him and said, "Wherewould you like me to pray?" He indicated a place to him and theMessengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayedthere.
