Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Said ibn al-Musayyab said, "If someone dedicates an animal voluntarily and then itis injured and he kills it and gives everyone a free hand in eatingit, he owes nothing. If, however, he eats some of it himself, or tellscertain other people to eat it, then he owes compensation."
