(7) باب قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى { إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ}
(7) Chapter: The Words Of Allah The Most High: "Verily, The Good Deeds Remove The Evil Deeds"

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعِجْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ،عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ خَالِهِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّصلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ يَا رَسُولَاللَّهِ هَذَا لِهَذَا خَاصَّةً أَوْ لَنَا عَامَّةً قَالَ " بَلْ لَكُمْ عَامَّةً " .
This hadith has been transmitted by Abu al-Ahwas and in this (these words are) also found:
Mu'adh said: Allah's Messenger, does it concern this particular case or to all of us? And he (the Holy Prophet) said: Of course, to all of you.
