Dua for Protection from Dajjal

The fitna of Dajjal holds significance in Islam as his appearance and declaration as a false messiah will indicate the time right before the day of judgment. His advent will be a time of great test for Muslims and their faith. The biggest source of guidance one can hold close to their heart and practice is making dua for protection from Dajjal in abundance to shield their faith against the evil influence and to strengthen their spiritual connection. Narrated in Hisn al-Muslim 199, the first 10 verses of Surah Al-Kahf, if memorized and recited in every prayer after the last tashahhud, the person who practices this will be protected from Dajjal or false messiah.

The Etiquettes of Reciting Dua for Protection from Dajjal

When making dua for protection from Dajjal, one should do it with the conviction that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) is all listening and knowing. He is the only one we have to turn to, and He is the one we have to find in refuge from hell, fire, trials of our faith, and ultimately life and death. When making dua, remember that in a time when our faith will be tested, it is important and necessary that we reflect on our actions and practice our faith in the best manner so that we can stand by what is righteous.

Benefits of Reciting Dua for Protection from Dajjal

The benefits of seeking refuge in Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) and making dua for protection from the Dajjal are beyond one’s protection only. Through dua, the one asking for protection is submitting themselves to the will of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) and seeking his guidance. This reminds one and allows one to reflect on the actions one does and whether or not what they are standing with is right.
