Dua upon encountering an enemy or those of authority

There are numerous instances where we may encounter people who do not have the best intentions for us or people with whom we find it difficult to communicate because of their position of authority. Upon encountering an enemy or those of authority, one should stand firm in their stance rather than shying away from the challenge and seek help from Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) for one’s strength and resilience.

Dua is the most vital aspect of one’s faith. In such circumstances, making dua allows one to become resilient and seek Allah’s protection against the ill or harm that an enemy may cause. Narrated in Hisn al-Muslim,127, it is the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to recite this dua in times when one is faced with an enemy or those with authority.
