(20) بَابُ بِرِّ مِنْ كَانَ يَصِلُهُ أَبُوهُ

(20) Chapter: The Dutifulness of someone who maintains what his father

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: إِنَّ أَبَرَّ الْبِرِّ أَنْ يَصِلَ الرَّجُلُ أَهْلَ وُدِّ أَبِيهِ.


Ibn 'Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him andgrant him peace, said, "The strongest form of dutifulness is when a man maintainsrelations with the people his father loved."
