2. Juma Mosque

 

Dating back to the 12th century, Juma Mosque, located in the historic Icheri Sheher, is considered to be Baku’s oldest mosque. It has undergone multiple reconstructions and now features a beautiful design with a courtyard and a rectangular prayer hall. Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Bin Abid undertook the task of decorating the walls of the Juma mosque with Quranic verses and the names of the five reversed members of the Ahl al-Bayt in Islam. 4. Muhammad Mosque

 

Muhammad Mosque, also known as the Siniggala Mosque, was built in the 11th century in the Old City of Baku, Azerbaijan. Known as Siniggala, for the name of its minaret - Siniggla, which refers to  ‘damaged tower,’ was built in 1079. Even though the minaret of the mosque was damaged throughout the 19th century, it was soon rebuilt and reconstructed.
