Tafseer
'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (lo! we have revealed it, a lecture in arabic) he says: we have sent down gabriel with the qur'an to muhammad in accordance with the usage of the arabic language, (that ye may understand) that which you were commanded to do and that in which you were prohibited from engaging.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : we have revealed it as an arabic qur’ān, in the language of the arabs, so that you, o people of mecca, might understand, comprehend its meaning.
