'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (save from their wives) up to four wives (or the (slaves) that their right hands possess) without any limit in number, (for then they are not blameworthy) when they engage in that which is lawful,
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : except from their spouses, that is, to their spouses, and what [slaves] their right hands possess, that is, concubines, for then they are not blameworthy, in having sexual intercourse with them.
