٣٧ - ٱلصَّافَّات

37 - As-Saffat

فَرَاغَ اِلٰۗى اٰلِـہَــتِہِمْ فَقَالَ اَلَا تَاْكُلُوْنَ۝۹۱ۚ
Faragha ila alihatihim faqala ala takuloona

Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)?

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (then turned he) i.e. abraham (to their gods and said) to them: (will ye not eat) the honey you have on you?

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : then he turned, he stole away, to their gods, the idols, in front of which the food had been placed, and said, mockingly: ‘will you not eat? — but they failed to utter [a word].
