'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (he saith) allah says to them: (contend not in my presence, when i had already proffered unto you the warning) i have informed you in the scripture with which the messenger was sent about this day.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : he, exalted be he, will say, ‘do not dispute in my presence, in other words, disputing is of no use here, for i had already given you, in [the life of] the world, the threat, of chastisement in the hereafter should you not believe, and so it is [now] inevitable.
