53 - An-Najm

عِنْدَ سِدْرَۃِ الْمُنْتَہٰى۝۱۴

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (by the lote tree of the utmost boundary) at which point every close angel and sent prophet stops; it is also said that this means: the knowledge of every close angel and sent prophet and firm-footed scholar stops at this point,

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : by the lote-tree of the ultimate boundary, when he was carried on the night journey [up] through the heavens — this [lote-tree] is a nabk thorn-tree [that lies] to the right of the throne (‘arsh), [the tree] beyond which no angel or any other being pass;
