That a man receives but only that for which he strives;

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (and that man) on the day of judgement (hath only that for which he maketh effort) he has only that which he has earned of good or evil in the life of the world,
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : and that (wa-an, to be understood as wa-annahu) man shall have only what he [himself] strives for, of good [deeds], and so he shall not have anything of [the reward for] good [deeds] striven for by another;
