٨٨ - ٱلْغَاشِيَة

88 - Al-Ghashiya

لَيْسَ لَہُمْ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيْعٍ۝۶ۙ
Laysa lahum taAAamun illa min dareeAAin

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (no food for them) in those abysmal pits (save bitter thorn fruit) the shabraq plant which grows in the roads of mecca, which is eaten by camels when it is soft but when it is hard it becomes like the claws of cats.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : they will have no food except cactus (darī‘) — a type of thorn plant which no animal grazes on because of its vileness —
