سَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اَشْرَكُوْا لَوْ شَاۗءَ اللہُ مَاۗ اَشْرَكْنَا وَلَاۗ اٰبَاۗؤُنَا وَلَا حَرَّمْنَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ۰ۭ كَذٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِہِمْ حَتّٰي ذَاقُوْا بَاْسَـنَا۰ۭ قُلْ ہَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ فَتُخْرِجُوْہُ لَنَا۰ۭ اِنْ تَتَّبِعُوْنَ اِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَاِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا تَخْرُصُوْنَ۱۴۸
Sayaqoolu allatheena ashrakoo law shaa Allahu ma ashrakna wala abaona wala harramna min shayin kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim hatta thaqoo basana qul hal AAindakum min AAilmin fatukhrijoohu lana in tattabiAAoona illa alththanna wain antum illa takhrusoona
But the idolaters say: "If God had so willed we would not have associated (others with Him), nor would have our fathers, nor would we have forbidden any thing." So had others denied before them, and had to taste Our punishment in the end. Ask them: "Have you any knowledge? Then display it. You follow nothing but conjecture, and are nothing but liars."
