It is a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (п·є) to recite dua after rainfall. It is narrated by Zaid bin Khalid (Ш±ЩЋШ¶ЩђЩЉЩЋ Щ±Щ„Щ„ЩЋЩ‘Щ°Щ‡ЩЏ Ш№ЩЋЩ†Щ’Щ‡ЩЏ) that the Prophet (п·є) recited this dua after the expedition of Hudaibiya. It had rained during the night and after leading the Fajr prayer, the Prophet (п·є) recited the dua given below (Sahih al-Bukhari 4147). Rain is a blessing from Allah and it is rightful to thank Allah for showering us with blessings and praise His magnificence, and reciting this dua helps Muslims do that.
Dua after rainfall should be recited after saying Bismillah once the rain has ceased. It can be said indoors or outdoors with hands raised towards the sky.
Reciting dua after rainfall is a beautiful way to thank Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) for the ease and blessings He sends us through the rain. Rainfall replenishes vegetation, land, and livestock, and reciting this dua offers thanks to Him for pouring His mercy upon us. Rain also breaks prolonged spells of heat and drought, and ensures that all living things remain thriving and fresh. Hence, reciting this dua incurs Allah’s (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) mercy and favors.
