Prophet Muhammad (п·є) would make this dua upon seeing the early or premature fruit at the beginning of the harvest season. Multiple authentic hadiths report Prophet Muhammad (п·є) making this dua or variations of it on multiple occasions. Abu Huraira (Ш±ЩЋШ¶ЩђЩЉЩЋ Щ±Щ„Щ„ЩЋЩ‘Щ°Щ‡ЩЏ Ш№ЩЋЩ†Щ’Щ‡ЩЏ) (Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the people saw the first fruit (of the season or plantation), they brought it to Allah's Messenger (п·є). When he received it, he said:
O Allah, bless us in our fruits; and bless us in our city; and bless us in our sa's and bless us in our mudd. O Allah, Ibrahim was Thy servant, Thy friend, and Thy apostle; and I am Thy servant and Thy apostle. He (Ibrahim) made supplication to Thee for (the showering of blessings upon) Mecca, and I am making supplication to Thee for Medina just as he made supplication to Thee for Mecca, and the like of it in addition. He would then call to him the youngest child and give him these fruits. (Sahih Muslim 1373a, 1373b)
In another authentic hadith in Sahih Muslim, Abu Sa'id Maula al-Mahri reported that they were hard-pressed by the distress and hardship of Medina and consulted Abu Sa'Id al-Khudri. Their distress reached Allah’s Messenger, who then said, “What is this matter concerning you that has reached me?” and proceeded to declare the land between 'Air and Uhud sacred and made this dua: O Allah, bless us in our city; O Allah, bless us in our sil; O Allah, bless us in our Mudd; O Allah, bless us in our sa; O Allah, bless us in our Mudd. O Allah, bless us in our city. O Allah, bless with this blessing two more blessings. (Sahih Muslim 1374a, 1374b)
There are other accounts of occasions where the Messenger of Allah (п·є) made this dua. Similar variations of this dua are mentioned in Sunan Ibn Majah 3329, Sahih al-Bukhari 2889, Sahih al-Bukhari 1889, Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3454, Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3934, and Mishkat al-Masabih 2731.
Nature Duas
Allahumma baarik lanaa fee thamarinaa , wa baarik lanaa fee madeenatinaa wa baarik lanaa fee saa'inaa, wa baarik lanaa fee muddinaa.
O Allah, bless our fruit for us, bless our town for us, bless our Sa' for us and bless our Mudd for us.(Sa' and Mudd are both dry measures used for agricultural produce by the Arabs in the Prophet's time.)
The best etiquette was that of Allah’s messenger (ï·º) and following his sunnah is the correct way. It is said that people brought the first harvest of the season and Prophet Muhammad would take them in his hands and recite the dua. (Mishkat al-Masabih 2731)
The major benefit of this dua is receiving Barakah and blessings from Allah. It reminds the Muslim where his sustenance comes from. The act of seeking Allah’s pleasure bestows the seeker with boundless blessings.
