١٨ - ٱلْكَهْف

18 - Al-Kahf

نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ نَبَاَہُمْ بِالْحَقِّ۝۰ۭ اِنَّہُمْ فِتْيَۃٌ اٰمَنُوْا بِرَبِّہِمْ وَزِدْنٰہُمْ ہُدًى۝۱۳ۤۖ
Nahnu naqussu AAalayka nabaahum bialhaqqi innahum fityatun amanoo birabbihim wazidnahum hudan

We narrate their story to you in all truth. They were a few young men who believed in their Lord; so We gave them greater guidance.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (we narrate unto thee) we exposit to you (their story with truth. lo! they were young men who believed in their lord, and we increased them in guidance) in insight into the matter of their religion; it is also said that this means: we made them firm in their faith.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : we relate, recite, to you their story with truth, that is, truthfully. they were indeed youths who believed in their lord, and we increased them in guidance.

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : …they were indeed young men who believed in their lord…sahl said:he called them young men (fitya) because they believed in him without [the aid] of any intermediary (wāsiṭa), and they devoted themselves to him by ridding themselves of all other attachments (ʿalāʾiq). his words, exalted is he: …and we increased them in guidance.that is, in insight (baṣīra) concerning faith.his words, exalted is he:
