They will ask you about the mountains. Tell them: "My Lord will uproot them from the base,

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī
تفسير : (they will ask thee) o muhammad, allah's blessings and peace be upon him. it was the banu thaqif who asked him, (of the mountains (on that day)) they will ask you about the state of the mountains on the day of judgement. (say) to them, o muhammad: (my lord will break them into scattered dust) allah will completely uproot them.
Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī
تفسير : they will question you concerning the mountains, how will they be on the day of resurrection? say, to them: ‘my lord will scatter them as ashes, by pulverising them into moving sand and dispersing them with the wind;
