20 - Ta-Ha

قَالَ اہْبِطَا مِنْہَا جَمِيْعًۢا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ۝۰ۚ فَاِمَّا يَاْتِيَنَّكُمْ مِّنِّيْ ہُدًى۝۰ۥۙ فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ ہُدَايَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقٰي۝۱۲۳
Qala ihbita minha jameeAAan baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun faimma yatiyannakum minnee hudan famani ittabaAAa hudaya fala yadillu wala yashqa

Ahmed Ali

(And) said: "Go down hence together, one the enemy of the other. Then will guidance come to you from Me; and whoever follows My direction will neither be disgraced nor be miserable.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (he said: go down hence) from paradise, (both of you) along with serpent and the peacock, (one of you a foe unto the other) i.e. the children of adam and the serpent are foes to one another. (but if there come unto you from me a guidance) when it comes to you, o children of adam, guidance from me: a scripture and a messenger, (then whoso followeth my guidance) my scripture and messenger, (he will not go astray) by following them in the life of this world (nor come to grief) in the hereafter.

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : he said, ‘go down both of you, that is, adam and eve, including all of your progeny, from it, from the garden, all together, some of you, some of the progeny, being enemies of others, because of some wronging others. yet if (the nūn of the conditional particle in has been assimilated with the mā, which is extra) there should come to you guidance from me, then whoever follows my guidance, the qur’ān, shall not go astray, in this world, neither shall he be miserable, in the hereafter.

Sahl al-Tustari

تفسير : …then whoever follows my guidance will not go astray, nor fall into misery.he said:that is, following and adhering to the book and the sunna. [such a person] will not deviate from the path of guidance, and will not fall into wretchedness either in the hereafter or in the present life.his words, exalted is he:
