Do you not know that God knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth? This is surely in accordance with the law. This is certainly how (the law of) God works inevitably.

Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (hast thou not known) o muhammad (that allah knoweth all that is in the heaven) all the good things performed by the dwellers of the heavens (and the earth) and he knows all the good and evil things committed by the dwellers of the earth? (lo! it is in a record) it is recorded in the guarded tablet. (lo! that) preserving that without a record (is easy for allah).

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : do you not know (the interrogative here is meant as an affirmative) that god knows all that is in the heaven and the earth? truly that, which has been mentioned, is [recorded] in a book, namely, the preserved tablet (al-lawh al-mahfūz). indeed that, namely, the knowledge of what has been mentioned, is easy for god.
