Tafseer

'Abdullāh Ibn 'Abbās / Muḥammad al-Fīrūzabādī

تفسير : (on the day) which is the day of judgement (when their tongues and their hands and their feet testify against them) against what 'abdullah ibn ubayy and his host said and did (as to what they used to do) in the life of this world,

Jalāl al-Dīn al-Maḥallī

تفسير : on the day (yawma is in the accusative because of the [implicit sense of] ‘permanence’ to which lahum, ‘for them’, is semantically connected) when their tongues and their hands and their feet shall testify against them (read [feminine person] tashhadu or [masculine person] yashhadu, ‘testify’) concerning what they used to do, in terms of speech and action — this [day] is the day of resurrection.
